Pulling from a wide range of influences from Hiatus Kaiyote to Tedeschi Trucks Band, Todd focuses on the art of expression, above all else. Rebekah Todd’s brand of “Cosmic Soul Rock” is a force to be reckoned with! Based out of North Carolina, Rebekah and her band bring a fresh energy to each performance, which carries fans to a place that can only be described as transcendental and unforgettable. Their love of American Roots music has carried them to shows in Mississippi juke joints as well as to several performances at Lincoln Center. The King Bees have performed on festival stages in European capitals including Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Stockholm, and London and have taken their internationally-acclaimed show across numerous countries. This year marks the 34TH anniversary of the band and also the 19th year of New River Blues Festival (held annually in their home, Ashe County) which they created and produce. The King Bees, Rob 'Hound Dog' Baskerville and Penny 'Queen Bee' Zamagni call the mountains of North Carolina home, but travel the world with their Blues and American Roots music. From his roots in Alabama - through high school in Virginia - to the songwriting capital of the world, Nashville, his military background no doubt contributes towards his fearlessly appreciative mindset when songwriting. As a result of this meeting, the two became friends and musical partners, and Andrew became a full-time writer and artist. An avid fisherman and serious bowhunter, Clemson University alum Andrew was serving as a game warden with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources when a mutual friend introduced him to RCA Victor/Moonwatcher Records producer Joe Taylor. The son of a bluegrass picking preacher, Andrew learned about roots music at its’ actual roots: bluegrass festivals, church socials, and front porch get-togethers. Raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Andrew Beam grew up surrounded by the culture that gave rise to so many great artists, from Don Gibson to Ronnie Milsap, Charlie Daniels to Randy Travis, from Chet Atkins all the way up through Eric Church….it must be something in the hills.
